1) Explain the definitions of syntax

Syntax is the study of the rules and principles that govern the structure of
sentences in a language. It involves the arrangement of words and phrases to
create well-formed sentences.
2) What is Generative Grammar?
Generative Grammar is a theory of grammar that aims to describe the implicit
knowledge that speakers have about the structure and rules of their language. It
was developed by Noam Chomsky and focuses on how a finite set of rules can
generate an infinite number of sentences.

3) Explain why the following sentences are structurally ambiguous

1. old men and women

This sentence is ambiguous because it can mean either "old men and old women"
or "old men and women of any age."
2. Flying planes can be dangerous.
This sentence is ambiguous because it can mean either "planes that are flying
can be dangerous" or "the act of flying planes can be dangerous."
