1. MS- word
1.1. Introduction to MS- word
MS word is a word processing software introduce by Microsoft in October 1983. Word
processing is software used to manipulate a text document, such as a resume or a report. You
typically enter text by typing, and the software provides tools for copying, deleting and
various types of formatting. Word processing includes several tools to format your pages. It
allows you to create and edit personal and business documents, such as letters, reports,
invoices, emails, and books. By default, documents saved in word 2010 are saved with
the .docx extension.

How to open or run MS- Word?

Step 1:- click the button windows key + R . then the run Window

will pop out in screen.

Step 2:- write WinWord in open option in run window.

Step 3:- press ok button and now MS-word file is open

Objective
To be able to creat a simple certificate for an organization in MS word

To be familiar with MS word tools

It is a card carrying holder name photographs date of birth and other personal detail servng
an official proof of their identity

Procedure
Step1: At First create a big rectangle in Blank page of MS word. Insert school logo and
create a text box to palace photo in left side . you can make border in certificate (in my case I
haven’t made border).

Step 2 :-At the top center write institution moto .

Step3 :-write your institution name address and establish date with different color as shown
in above figure .

Step 4 :- write the detail of character certificate holder and his /her gpa/division which he
/she score in examination taken by board or institution

Step 5:- for reference write symbol number registration number and date of issue .

Procedure
Step 1:- create a big rounded rectangle with the help of shapes

Step 2 :-fill the color of shape as your wish (in my case I have fill blue)

step 3:- create small triangle inside write there your institution name address contact detail

Step 4:- write all the detail of card holder and position in that institution

Step 5 :- At the bottom write valid update/ expiry date of that card .

Procedure
Step 1:- at create a big donout shape from shape and styles

Step2:- Inside donut shape write institution name and address with the help of word art.

Step 3 :- Insert 2 triangle to make star shape inside donout shape

Step 4:- Near star shpe write estd date as shown in figure .

2. Introduction to excel
MS-EXCEL is a part of Microsoft Office suite software. It is an electronic spreadsheet with
numerous rows and columns, used for organizing data, graphically represent data’s, and
performing different calculations. It consists of 1048576 rows and 16383 columns, a row and
column together make a cell. Each cell has an address defined by column name and row
number example A1, A3,D6,D2, etc. this is also known as a cell reference.

How to open MS excel;

Step 1:- click the button windows key + R . then the run

Window will pop out in screen.

Step 2:- write excel in open option in run window.

Step 3:- press ok button and now MS-word file is open

Following the basic window which you get when you start the excel application.

then find the total obtained marks of the students type the following formula :

=sum (C2:G2) And drag down to the cell H8

Step3:- Again to find the percentage of their marks ,their total marks is 240 then the formula
is :-

And drag It down to I8

Step2:- To find the bonus salary got by all the worker is 15% of total salary the formula is:-

Step 3:- To find the tax payer who is in manager post tax rate is 10%of salary the formula is
:-

=IF(D2="manager",E2*10%,0)

Step 4 :- To get extra salary Ha will be from out of ktm extra salary rate is 5% of salary the
formula is :-

Step 5:- Total salary received by the worker is sum of all bonus salary and deducted tax from
each the formula is :-

Step 1:- write company name, address, worker name and their salary as shown in figure
below

Step 2:- To find the service tax received by the salary whose is more than 1,50,000 then 5%
service tax is applied the formula is :-

=IF(C5>150000,C5*5%,C5*1%)

Step 2:- To find the income tax received by the salary whose is more than 1,00,000 then
10% income tax and salary more than 2,00,000 then 15% income tax is applied the formula is

=IF(C8*12=100000,C8*0%,IF(C8*12<200000,C8*10%,C8*15%))

Step 4:- To find the total tax paid by the employ the formula is

=SUM(D5:E5)

Step 5:- Net salary is the tax paid amount is deducted from the salary they have received the
formula is :-

=C5-F5

3. Introduction to MS dos :-
The Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS) is an operating system developed for PCs
with x86 microprocessors. It is a command-line-based system, where all commands are
entered in text form and there is no graphical user interface.

MS-DOS was the most commonly used member of the family of disk operating systeMS. It
was the main choice as an operating system for IBM PC-compatible computer systeMS
during the 1980s to mid-1990s. MS-DOS was gradually replaced by system's with graphical
user interfaces, particularly Microsoft Windows .

How to open MS dos

Step 1:- click the button windows key + R . then the run

4. Introduction to power point


Power Point is a versatile, user friendly presentation graphics software tool that allows you
to create professional-looking electronic slide shows. PPT is used to convey information to a
person or group in an orderly manner. You may simply design a presentation that will wow
your audience and deliver your idea clearly and professionally by using clip art, music clips,
movie clips, graphs, organization charts, imported Web screens, and many other features.

How to open MS power point :-

Step 1:- click the button windows key + R . then the run Window

will pop out in screen.

Step 2:- write powerpnt in open option in run window.

Step 3:- press ok button and now MS-word file is open

Following the basic window which you get when you start the MS power point application:-

Create a presentation in PowerPoint.

Steps:

New presentations When you open PowerPoint from the Start menu or from an icon on your
desktop, a new presentation with one slide appears by default. You can also create a new
presentation while PowerPoint is already open.

• Click the Microsoft Office button, and choose New from the menu.

• The New Presentation dialog box will appear. Blank presentations are selected by default.

• Click Create, and a new presentation will open in the PowerPoint window.

Slide basics.

About the slides contain placeholders, or areas on a slide that are enclosed by dotted borders.
Placeholders can contain many different Items, including text, pictures, and charts. Some
placeholders have placeholder text or text you can replace and thumbnail-sized icons that
represent specific commands such as Insert Picture, Insert Chart, and Insert Clip Art.
Hover over each icon to see the type of information you can insert.

To insert text into a placeholder:

• Click inside the placeholder. The placeholder text will disappear, and the insertion point will
appear.

• Type your text once the insertion point is visible.

• Click outside the placeholder when you have entered all of your text into the placeholder.

To insert a new slide:

• Click the New Slide command in the Slides group on the Home tab. A menu will appear
with your slide layout options.

• Click the slide you want to insert. A new slide with the chosen layout will appear in the
center of the PowerPoint window and in the pane on the left.

To delete a slide:

Select the slide you want to delete. Click the Delete command in the Slides group on the
Home tab.

To move a slide:

• Select the slide you want to move on the SI des tab in the left task pane.

• Click and drag the slide to a new location. The insertion point will appear.

• Release the mouse button. The slide will appear in the new location. Saving your
presentation If you are saving a document for the first time, you will need to use the Save
As command; however, if you have already saved a presentation, you can use the Save
command.
