SCIENCE
As India grows and urbanizes, its water bodies are getting toxic. It's estimated that
around 70% of surface water in India is unfit for consumption. Every day, almost 40
million litres of wastewater enters rivers and other water bodies with only a tiny
fraction adequately treated. As water is an important element of human health, polluted
water directly affects the
human body.
Research and prepare a report with relevant pictures on the following topics related to
water condition in India.
Groundwater is water that has infiltrated the ground to fill the spaces between sediments
and cracks in rock. Ground water pollution- causes, effects and prevention
(roll no.1-10)
Surface water is any body of water found on Earth's surface, including both the saltwater
in the ocean and the freshwater in rivers, streams, and lakes. Surface water pollution –
causes, effects and prevention (roll no. 11-20)
Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is the collection and storage of rain, rather than allowing it
to run off. Rain water harvesting -its type and importance (roll no. 21-30)
There are various methods of water conservation practiced in ancient Indian kingdoms.
Write about any two such methods (roll no.31 onwards)
