3. Derive the expression of gm of a MOSFET and plot its variation with (VGS-Vth) and ID.

For both the cases the current of the MOS will be dependent on VGS. Because it is not fixed. For a proper
operation it should be biased to a proper voltage.
7. Find the maximum value of gm for FET with IDSS=10mA, Vp=-2V, VGS=5V?
9. An NMOS device operating in the subthreshold region has a 𝝃 of 1.5. What variation in VGS results
in a tenfold Change in ID? If ID=10𝝁A, what is gm?
17. Calculate the output resistance of cascode amplifier shown below.

25. Assuming λ = γ = 0, calculate the small-signal gain of the circuit shown in the figure below,
26. In a common source amplifier circuit with a drain resistance of 10 kΩ and a drain current of 1.5 mA,
determine the voltage gain if the transconductance (gm) of the MOSFET is 2 mS.

27. In a two-stage MOSFET amplifier circuit, the first stage has a transconductance (gm1) of 2 mS and a
load resistance (RL1) of 5 kΩ. The second stage has a transconductance (gm2) of 3 mS and a load resistance
(RL2) of 10 kΩ. If the input voltage is 20 mV, calculate the overall voltage gain of the amplifier.
