ALL ABOUT LOVE IN LOVELY HOMEOPATHY

Where does Hahnemann talk about love in organon?

APHORISM 5
Useful to the physician in assisting him to cure are the particulars of the most probable exciting
cause of the acute disease, as also the most significant points in the whole history of the chronic
disease, to enable him to discover its fundamental cause, which is generally due to a chronic
miasm.
1, investigations
2, ascertainable physical constitution
3, his moral
4, intellectual character
5, occupation
6, mode of living and habits
7, social and domestic relations,
8, his age
9, sexual function, &c., are to be taken into consideration.
Kisses everyone
Coquettish too much: flirtatious
Amativeness
- Love of opposite sex
- Procreative energy
- Manliness / Womanliness
- It’s a Psoric rubric
Amorous Disposition
- Full of / Showing love or sexual desire
- It’s a sycotic rubric
AMOROUS disposition
In love; fond; relating to love. English dictionaries tend to equate this with Amative, another
rubric taken from Gallavardin for the Synthetic Repertory. Even in French dictionaries little or
no distinction is made. This situation is compounded by the fact that the two rubrics share many
remedies in common. However, inspection of the rubric contents suggests that Amorous may
have more to do with "being in love" and may come close to romantic preoccupation or
"infatuation". Amative, on the other hand is perhaps a more explicitly sexual state (Canth.++)
which thus needs comparison with Lascivious and Nymphomania (qv)
Lasciviousness, Lustfulness
Equated by Kent with Lustful and Amorous. W."Looseness; irregular indulgence of the
animal desires; wantonness; lustfulness". Lustfulness is defined in W. as "The state of eagerly
desiring carnal gratification". It would appear to be Kent's main rubric for this state in the male
Kent uses Nymphomania for this condition in the female and does not use the old term for
its occurrence in the male - Satyriasis - at all. However, the Synthetic Repertory follows Knerr
in having a distinct rubric for Satyriasis. As Kent's Lasciviousness already encompasses this
condition there is some possibility for confusion here. Given W.s definition above it seems most
likely that modern additions to Satyriasis should actually be included in Kent's Lasciviousness.
Lasciviousness is distinct from Lewdness and Libertinism (qv) in that it refers more to a
disposition than to an outward pattern or habit of "moral" behaviour. The relatively large size of
the rubrics "Sexual passion; increased" (Genitalia, male) and "Desire, increased" (Genitalia,
female) suggests that Kent reserved the Mind section rubrics for those whose will, and thereby
behaviour, was itself manifestly affected. The condition of those affected with sexual erethism
(the old term for sexual excitement in general) "in spite of themselves" is thus better covered by
the "Genitalia" rubrics.
- Characterized by or expressing lust or tendency to excite lust
- Lust with a desire to satisfy ones sexual needs
- ………Strong sexual desire
- It’s a syco syphilitic rubric

Lewdness, Obscene
Equated by Kent with Amorous and with Obscene. W. is unambiguous in clearly defining
Lewdness as "The unlawful indulgence of lust; fornication or adultery." Obscene is "Expressing
or presenting to the mind or view something which delicacy, purity and decency forbid to be
exposed". This expression can thus be seen not only as covering sexually blatant or offensive
behaviour but also as closely parallel to the modern usage of the word "promiscuity". For Kent
its reference was probably primarily to the female patient. (Prostitutes were formerly often
described as "lewd women" and W.s definition explicitly refers to "a female given to
indiscriminate lewdness"). It is thus worthy of note that Lewdness refers to a pattern of
behaviour and does not entail Nymphomania or "Desire, increased" at all.
- Lewd: Showing or intended to excite sexual desire esp in a offensive way
- Obscene: Offensive to ones feelings or to prevailing notion of modesty or decency
- It’s a syphilitic rubric
Shameless:
"Wanting modesty; brazen-faced; audacious" etc. Without modesty in the sense of not caring
about how one is seen. Could apply to women or to men who appear to have lost their scruples
about demeanor and appearance in company. Note that Sec. is black type under Shameless but
absent from both Nymphomania, Lasciviousness and Lewdness - Shameless has more to do
with not caring about being exposed etc than it has to do with heightened sexuality or sexually
blatant behaviour.
- Having or showing no shame, modesty or decency
- Shameless has more to do with not caring about being exposed etc…. than it has to do with
heightened sexuality.
- Sec cor is 3 mark shameless, but absent from both nymphomania, lascivious & lewdness.

LIBERTINISM:
Actually equates this with Lewdness but also gives "An unrestrained indulgence of lust;
debauchery". Debauchery is in turn defined in W. as "Habitual lewdness; excessive unlawful
indulgence of lust". As distinct from Lewdness, this rubric was almost certainly for Kent
exclusively of relevance to the male patient. The habitual lack of restraint of the libertine or
"rake" is characteristic - he makes no secret of his tastes and is more likely to go so far as to
flaunt them.

Libertine is a person who believes its his right to live an unrestrained, sexually immoral life
Libertine has come to mean one devoid of any restraints, especially one who ignores or even
spurns religious norms, accepted morals, and forms of behaviour sanctioned by he larger socity
The philosophy gained new-found adherents in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, particularly in
France and Britain. Notable among these were John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, the Marquis
de Sade, and Aleister Crowley. "Libertine", like many words, is an evolving one, defined today
as "a dissolute person; usually a person who is morally unrestrained". Charles-Maurice de
Talleyrand wrote that Joseph Bonaparte "sought only life's pleasures and easy access to
libertinism," while on the throne of Naples.[1] In modern times, libertinism has been associated
with sado-masochism, nihilism, and free love.

Libertine was originally a negative term, derived by John Calvin, for opponents of his policies
in Geneva, Switzerland. This group, led by Ami Perrin, argued against Calvin's "insistence that
church discipline should be enforced uniformly against all members of Genevan society". [2]
Perrin and his allies were elected to the town council in 1548, and "broadened their support base
in Geneva by stirring up resentment among the older inhabitants against the increasing number
of religious refugees who were fleeing France in even greater numbers".[2] By 1555, Calvinists
were firmly in place on the Genevan town council, so the Libertines, led by Perrin, responded
with an "attempted coup against the government and called for the massacre of the French ...
This was the last great political challenge Calvin had to face in Geneva."[2]

- It’s a sycotic rubric

NYMPHOMANIA:
"Morbid and uncontrollable sexual desire in females, breaking the bounds of modest
demeanour; always attended with agitation both of body and mind, and constituting a true and
proper disease which is no more under the control of the will than tetanus." This rubric is
comparable with Lascivious (qv) but is exclusively of reference to the female It is distinguished
from the Genitalia, female rubric "Desire, increased" by the fact that the patient's behaviour and
demeanour is manifestly affected.
- It is excessive, abnormal or uncontrollable sexual / romantic behaviour, desire and
excitement in females.
- It is a syphilitic rubric
SATYRIASIS:
Excessive and uncontrollable sexual desire in a man
It is a syphilitic rubric
Origin of the word comes from Greek mythology.

ADULTEROUS:

Phaedra, in Greek mythology, daughter of Minos and Pasiphaë, married to Theseus of Athens.
Her adulterous passion for her stepson, Hippolytus, led to her death. The story is told in plays
by Greek dramatist Euripides, Roman dramatist Seneca, and French dramatist Jean Baptiste
Racine.

Neurotransmitters in Intimacy
Oxytocin
"The hormone best known for its role in inducing labor may influence our ability to bond
with others”
Oxytocin was shown to be associated with the ability to maintain healthy interpersonal
relationships and healthy psychological boundaries with other people.
Oxytocin (ŏk'sĭ-tō'sĭn) (Greek: "quick birth") is a mammalian hormone that also acts as a
neurotransmitter in the brain. In women, it is released in large amounts after distension of the
cervix and vagina during labor, and after stimulation of the nipples, facilitating birth and
breastfeeding, respectively.
Oxytocin is thought to be released during orgasm in both sexes. In the brain, oxytocin is
involved in social recognition and bonding, and may be involved in the formation of trust
between people and generosity.
This has been termed the cuddling chemical also linked to milk production in women.
Oxytocin makes women & men calmer & more sensitive to the feelings others.

2, PASSION
Is more of physical component.
Physiological Arousal
Intense sexual arousal
Neurotransmitters:
PEA or Phenyl ethylamine
Dopamine
Nor epinephrine
In passion there is a virtual explosion of adrenaline – like neuro chemical called PEA
It is a chemical that speeds up the flow of information between nerve cells.
Dopamine makes us feel good
Nor epinephrine stimulates the production of adrenaline – it makes our heart race.

3, COMMITMENT
Is more of cognitive component
It includes deciding to love someone & committing to the relationship
Neurotransmitters are:
Vasopressin
Its called the monogamy chemical
Under the effect of this neurotransmitters one develops bonding with one & only one
partner.
Endorphins
Calm down and reassure dependability.
Not as exciting or as stressful as PEA but steadier and more addictive.
The longer the two people are married the more likely it is that they will stay married. In
part they become addicted to the endorphins and marital serenity.
