Topic 2. In many countries, traditional foods are being replaced by international
fast food. Many people think that it is good to eat traditional food while others
believe that fast food is a good choice. Discuss both views and give your own
opinion. (250 words – 340 words)
The consumption of fastfood has increased and replaced a home-based food trend in
many nations. Fastfood lets some people release more of their free time to spend on
other necessary things, while others believe that traditional foods are a better choice
for their organism. In my opinion, Fastfood trend has severe negative consequences
both on our family and society.
First of all, In a busy city, someone scarcely wants to spend time preparing foods for
the family while s/he prefers to order fastfoods from home. With the busy lifestyle,
people are solely relying on fastfood items than preparing traditional foods at home.
So we have fastfood shops in every corner of our city streets. Additionally eating
fastfood is cost efficient, because it is a lot more cheaper. For instance, if some
person went to his job in the morning, he would come into one of them and has
breakfast or if my wife comes back home from her office so late, she always calls
some fastfood restaurant and makes an order.
According to others, traditional meals are more healthy and give us more nutrients.
Although junk food can be bought easily from a shop, it can cause too many health
conditions. As we see, children today suffering from some kind of weight-related
problems and fastfood is the only reasons for that. This is to say that, people who
consume fastfood on a daily basis become obese and obesity leads to many health
problems, such as heart issues and diabetes, later in life. In my view traditional meal
has much more benefits which outweigh the expenses. People should not consume a
large amount of junk food in order to stay healthy and so they do not have to go to a
hospital for treatment. This is why the traditional cuisine has a big role in our lives.
In conclusion, fastfood brings into our life a new experience with a diversity of
eating, while ordinary meal makes us diet more healthy. I believe fastfood changes
our life in the nearest future, but traditional cuisine has more benefits due to better
nutrition values and a local history.
