superhuman strength, stamina. speed. agility and endurance. This time. a true hero who exhibits valor supporting the fight against Covid- 19
pandemic.
The bravery and honor that Angel Locsin has showed during health crisis is undeniable. Internationally recognized for her
philanthropic work, Angel continues to extend assistance for others' relief and rehabilitation. Du ring Sagip Kapamilya Online Auction, she
put her dream car, the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, to raise a certain amount for her project. She also built the fundraiser "'United We Stand PH"
which has raised 11.35 million for 246 tents. These tents include 225 isolation and 21 sanitation tents with misting machine and U V light,
which benefitted the 135 hospitals in and out Metro Manila.
Locsin, in her lnstagram post, said that her only dream was to provide tents to hospitals for patients and for frontliners to address the
challenge of overcrowding and to help lessen the increase of spreading the virus in hospitals. She was also thankful that there are other
generous people who donated food, aircons and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
In 2017. she was also at the ground zero in Marawi City to distribute food packs and school supplies to the residents who were
devastated due to a war flared between the government troops and terrorists. Angel even supports and care people especially affected by
various typhoons and volcanic eruptions.
Indeed, she was named one of Forb s Asia's "Heroes of Philanthropy" in 2019.

Gold in Garbage

Avella Lipata used to make the rounds of Makati hotels and offices in her truck to collect waste materials. Back at the
warehouse of her co1npany, she and ten other workers carefully sorted items that would not be sent to dumpsites instead sold at
competitive prices.
When her story was featured as an exceptional solid waste management initiative, it caught the attention of the Solid
Waste Management Program.
Any much association might have much to gain from implementing a solid waste management program. For a busy
commercial district, setting up an organized waste collection and disposal system was not only cost-efficient, but also helped
maintain the malls' standards as premier lifestyle centers. It was an association that initiated the waste collection and recycling
program in 1996.
By the time the group contacted Avella's company 10 years later, it had reduced the amount of garbage hauled from the malls
from 20 trucks to seven trucks everyday. Through further segregation, two truckloads of collected materials can still be recovered
and sold.

Sometime later, two


women came to the king to
have an argument settled.
“Please my Lord,” one of them
began, this woman and I live in

baby while she was with me in

there were only two of us in the
house. But her baby died during
the night when she rolled over
on it. Then she got up in the
night and took my son from
beside me while I was asleep.
She laid her dead child in my
arms and took mine to sleep
beside her. And in the morning
when I tried to nurse my son, he
was dead! “But when I looked
more closely in the morning
light, I saw that it wasn’t my
