CALA Title : Commonly abused drugs

CALA Background

It is beyond any reasonable doubt that drug abuse is prevalent among many teenagers and
youths.Some people even die of drug abuse while others get insane and end up in rehabilitation
centres .You are therefore going to investigate the prevalence of drug abuse in your community
and the commonly abused drugs.

CALA description:

This CALA consist of three parts that is PART A, PART B and PART C which adds up to 20
marks.
PART A: Knowledge and understanding (7 marks)

• Define drug abuse. (1)

• List any three commonly abused drugs in your community. (3)

• Paste pictures of the commonly abused drugs. (3)

PART B: Survey and investigation skills. (7 marks)

 Collect information on the prevalence of abuse for the drugs you stated. (3)
 Use the information to draw a bar graph showing prevalence of drug abuse. (4)

PART C: Analysis and problem solving. (6 marks)

• Suggest ways of reducing drug abuse in your community.(6)
