VI.

CONCLUSION

The laboratory activity in which we were tasked with drawing connections and
computing the necessary parameters of single-phase transformers, 3-phase open-
bank transformers, and 3-phase closed-bank transformers emphasized the
importance of having knowledge about the specifications and standards of these
transformers. The activity helped solidify my understanding of computing parameters
to ensure efficient transformer operation.
In conclusion, based on the provided sample problems, the distribution rating
of transformers ensures safe and efficient operation without overloading, thanks to
knowledge in computing kVA loads, line current, wing kVA rating, and percentage of
transformer loading. A single-phase transformer can be replaced with a 1-75 kVA, 230
V, single-phase DT; a 2-75 kVA, 230 V, 3-phase DT can be installed in an open-bank
transformer; and finally, a 3-100 kVA, 230 V 3-phase DT can be installed in a closed-
bank transformer. The wire sizes for each transformer are determined to accurately
select appropriate wire sizes, ensuring optimal efficiency within their limits and
compliance with standards to prevent overloading and other transformer failures.
