CMH iHOMIS System Technician

Job Description:

The System Technician is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer
systems, servers, and networks within the Health Information Management (iHOMIS) department. They ensure
the smooth operation of electronic medical record systems and related software applications, providing
technical support to users as needed. They will be under the direct supervision of the Chief of Hospital and
Hospital Administrator. All the actions of the system technician must properly document, logged and with
permission with its direct supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software, including operating systems and
applications.
2. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of
electronic medical record systems.
3. Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans to safeguard patient data.
4. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure data security and compliance with
regulations such as Data Privacy Act of 2012 or the Republic Act No. 10173.
5. Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to implement system upgrades and enhancements, staying
abreast of industry best practices.
6. Provide technical support and training to end-users, resolving issues and answering inquiries in a timely
manner.
7. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
8. Participate in system audits and security assessments to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.


 Proven experience as a System Administrator, preferably in a healthcare setting.
 Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux server environments.
 Knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and backup solutions.
 Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
 Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA Server+, etc.) are a
plus.
