of internship. In the event that candidate fails to do so, such a mention shall be made in the
certificate issued to the candidate.

7. Progress Evaluation and Assessment

Assessing the performance of interns is a crucial aspect of the internship program. It helps both
the interns and the organization gauge progress, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate
achievements. The assessment process can be broken down into three key components: weekly
progress reports, monthly progress reports, and a final presentation.

Weekly Progress Reports (Every Friday Morning):

Weekly progress reports are a valuable tool for monitoring interns' day-to-day activities and
ensuring they are on track with their responsibilities. These reports typically include the following
components:

 Person/s Interacted [Name and Designation]

4
Internship Programme: " Pathway to Professional Success"

 Nature of Interaction [Describe the nature of your interaction with the person, such as a
meeting, discussion, collaboration, etc.]
 Routine Works [List your routine tasks and responsibilities completed during the week.]
 Special Assignments, if any [Detail any special projects, tasks, or assignments you worked
on during the week.]
 Learnings [Share the key insights, skills, or knowledge you gained during the week.]
 Challenges [Note any difficulties or obstacles faced during the week and how you
addressed them.]
 Goals for Next Week [Outline your goals and tasks for the upcoming week.]

The sample format of weekly report is attached as annexure 3.

Monthly Progress Reports (Every Month, Second Working Day):

Monthly progress reports provide a more comprehensive view of interns' performance over a
longer timeframe. These reports typically include the following elements:

 Accomplishments: A summary of major accomplishments and projects worked on during

the month.
 Learning and Development: Any new skills or knowledge gained during the month.
 Challenges and Solutions: An overview of challenges encountered and how they were
overcome.

This report shall be presented before the internship committee on second working day of every
month. In addition, the HR/Internship Coordinator shall collect the monthly evaluation report from
the mentor to get feedback on the performance of the intern. The sample format of monthly
evaluation report is attached as annexure 3.

Final Presentation (Last Week of Internship):

The final presentation is a critical component of the internship assessment. It allows interns to
showcase their work, what they've learned, and how they've contributed to the organization. Here's
what the final presentation should include:

 Project Highlights: A detailed presentation of the projects worked on, including objectives,
methods, results, and impact on the organization.

5
Internship Programme: " Pathway to Professional Success"

 Skills and Knowledge Gained: Discuss the skills and knowledge acquired during the
internship and how they can be applied in the future.
 Challenges and Growth: Reflect on challenges faced and personal growth achieved
throughout the internship.
 Feedback and Evaluation: Summarize the feedback received from mentors, supervisors,
and colleagues. Highlight areas of improvement and lessons learned.
 Future Goals: Share career aspirations and how the internship experience has influenced
future career plans.

Regular assessment through weekly and monthly progress reports ensures continuous feedback
and improvement, while the final presentation serves as a culmination of the internship experience,
allowing interns to leave a lasting impression and provide insights for program improvement.

The mentor and HR/Internship coordinator shall prepare a final evaluation report of the intern.
This shall be discussed with the intern during their final presentation.

Exit interviews: Exit interview shall be conducted at the end of internship programme. This shall
serve as valuable tool for gathering feedback, assessing the effectiveness of the internship program,
and providing interns with an opportunity to share their experiences and insights.

8. Completion and termination of Internship

Interns are hired for a three-month duration, and their employment naturally terminates at the end
of the agreed-upon period. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive
certificates acknowledging their participation and achievements.

Interns can be terminated from their internship position under certain circumstances.

 Performance Issues: If an intern consistently fails to meet job expectations, complete tasks,
or exhibit the required skills despite receiving feedback and support, termination may be
considered.
 Violation of Company Policies: Interns are typically expected to adhere to company
policies, codes of conduct, and ethical standards. Serious violations of these policies, such
as harassment, theft, or unethical behavior, may lead to termination.

6
Internship Programme: " Pathway to Professional Success"

 Attendance and Punctuality: Repeated instances of absenteeism, tardiness, or unexplained

leaves of absence may result in termination, especially if it negatively affects project
deadlines and team dynamics.
 Unprofessional Behavior: Disruptive behavior, insubordination, or actions that harm the
workplace environment or disrupt operations may lead to termination.
 Legal or Ethical Violations: Engaging in illegal activities or unethical conduct during the
internship can lead to termination, especially if it puts the organization at risk.
 Mutual Agreement: An internship may be terminated by mutual agreement between the
intern and the organization. In such cases, certificate shall be provided only if the intern
has successfully completed a minimum of one month of internship

8. Roles and Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities within an internship program are crucial for its success. The summary
of the responsibilities for each role in the internship is as follows

standards while demonstrating adaptability.
 Mentors provide guidance, training, feedback, and professional support to interns, helping
them navigate their roles effectively.

and handle conflicts within the internship program.
 HR ensures compliance, manages onboarding/offboarding, benefits, legal documentation,
and promotes diversity and inclusion within the program.

The roles and responsibilities are detailed in annexure 4.

9. Ethical Guidelines:

During their internship, interns should adhere to high ethical standards by maintaining
confidentiality of sensitive information, respecting intellectual property rights, conducting
themselves professionally and honestly in all interactions, and actively engaging in learning
experiences with integrity. They should embrace diversity and inclusion, report any discrimination
or harassment, and prioritize the safety and well-being of themselves and others. Interns should be
