July 16 (Reuters) - The Delhi state government reduced

value-added tax (VAT) on diesel to 12.5 per cent from 20
percent earlier, translating to 2.50 rupees (about 5 U.S.
cents) reduction in retail price of a litre of gas oil.

The new rates will be applicable from July 20.

Following are revisions since 1989 in the retail prices of
four key petroleum products in the Indian capital. Petrol,
diesel and kerosene prices are in rupees per litre, while LPG
prices are per cylinder of 14.2 kilogrammes.
