Gross Examination: Specimen received in formalin, consists of a gall bladder. It is


measuring 9x3 cm in size. Maximum wall thickness is 2 mm. No bile or stone retrieved.
No growth identified on mucosal surface. Representative three sections are submitted in
one cassette.

Microscopic Examination: Sections reveal wall of the gall bladder showing multiple
areas of denuded epithelium. Foci of intact benign epithelial lining and Rokitansky
Aschoff sinuses are seen. There is a moderate to marked inflammatory infiltrate in the
lamina propria and is comprising of lymphocytes, plasma cells and few neutrophils. No
evidence of granuloma, dysplasia or malignancy identified in the sections examined.

DIAGNOSIS:

GALL BLADDER:
-CHRONIC CHOLECYSTITIS WITH CHOLELITHIASIS.
-NEGATIVE FOR GRANULOMATOUS INFLAMMATION.
-NEGATIVE FOR MALIGNANCY
