3. What was the secret of success of your business operations?
The main secret of our business is that we have an excellent doctor who is not
only skilled but also very kind. Our doctor is very approachable and easy to talk to. For
example, even if there is no consultation, the doctor replies quickly to messages.
Whether it's through our page or direct messages, we accommodate all patients,
whether it's an emergency or not, so they don't feel afraid to come to us. According to
patient feedback, we are skilled and very accommodating.
The real secret to a successful business is to consistently treat patients well. We don't
look at the social status of our patients; we treat everyone the same and help them as
much as we can. Additionally, having a clean and nice facility makes patients feel like
they are at home while receiving quality care.
4. How did you cope with the pandemic that destabilized all of the businesses in
the country?
Actually, during the pandemic, we were not greatly affected. Many people needed
health facilities, so we didn't run out of patients or see a drop in our business. In fact, we
had more patients because many were afraid to go to hospitals. Hospitals had many
COVID-19 cases, and a lot of people were dying there. Pregnant women felt safer at the
lying-in clinic, so they came to us. However, the downside was the risk to our own
health. With more patients coming in, we were more exposed to the virus, which also
put our families at risk.
During the pandemic, Ma'am Janice contracted COVID-19 twice. That was the
main impact on them. Every time they handled patients during the pandemic, they wore
full protective gear. This ensured their safety and allowed them to do their jobs properly.

1. How do you differentiate your business from competitors in the market?
When your business is a birthing facility, you always have pregnant women
coming in. There are always pregnant women at our facility. If your business is well-
known, most patients will refer their family and friends to you. This is one of the unique
reasons why people prefer Unifam Lying-In over other facilities.
2. Can you describe the birthing facilities and amenities available at your clinic?
At our clinic, we have different amenities. When a patient arrives and complains
of being in labor, we take her to the examination room. Once the patient is admitted to
the examination room, we have a ward and a labor room for her. When it's time for the
patient to give birth, we have a delivery room. For check-ups, we have an OB
consultation room and a pediatric consultation room.
3. Is there anything else we should know about your birthing clinic before making a
decision?
When a patient contacts us, either through our page or via text, we ask about
their case. If they say they have a twin pregnancy or are a high-risk patient, we first
arrange for an OB doctor to check them. If the patient is high-risk, the OB doctor must
examine them. The doctor will decide if the patient needs to transfer to a hospital or can
stay here. If a patient arrives without prior check-up and is about to give birth, and the
baby is coming out, even if they are high-risk, we have to help them deliver. We will
refer the patient to a hospital if it is absolutely necessary. Otherwise, we will call our
doctor to come here to better manage the patient.
4. Overview of your business.
Unifam Birthing Home Medical Clinic is located along A. Bonifacio Avenue,
which is a busy highway. Many vehicles pass by, making it easy to see and find. This is
one reason why our business gets many patients. For example, if you are riding a
tricycle and are pregnant, you might see our clinic and decide to come in. I've
encountered many patients like this, some even coming from places like Pasay. Another
important factor is how we accommodate each patient. As soon as they enter, they
should feel safe and very welcome. It's important for them to feel that they want to be
here because they feel well taken care of and welcomed.

other mental health challenges? - In postpartum depression, it's not just health
practitioners who should support those experiencing it. Their family should be the first to
support them because they are the ones they are with every day. For those who know
someone is experiencing it, we should consult and support the mommy immediately to
prevent more serious things.
