Minimum of grade 3B in English Language at SPM level/equivalent
STPM holders:
i) University Requirements
Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia/ equivalent with good grades.

Diploma holders:
i) University Requirements
Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia/ equivalent with a minimum of a credit
in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia.
Possess a Diploma or other equivalent qualifications recognized by
the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate
And
Minimum of Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
ii) Programme Requirements
Possess a Diploma in a field related to TESL with a minimum CGPA
of 2.50 from UTM
or any recognized institution
Other qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, related to TESL,
which is recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by
the University Senate
Or,
For candidates with a CGPA of between 2.30 and 2.50, a minimum of
2 years' working experience in a related filed, is required,
Minimum of a credit in Mathematics at SPM/ equivalent or a minimum
of a Grade C in any Mathematics subject at Diploma level
Minimum of grade 3B in English Language at SPM level/equivalent
Passed MEdSI exam and interview conducted by the university
Candidates are required to submit their Diploma examination
transcript (first semester right through the final semester) to UTM.
Candidates are also required to submit a copy of their Diploma or
letter verifying the y have completed their studies.
Note:
The year of entry and actual duration of study is subject to the exemption of
credits approved by UTM.

1. Students evaluation of the subjects and the effectiveness of the teaching of the subjects done every semester
2. Materials and syllabus committee of the programme which oversees the content and the syllabus the individual
subjects
3. Teaching and learning committee of the faculty which vets the final examination papers
4. In-house training of staff, coordinated by the Human Resource Department of the university
5. Staff development courses, seminars (as participant and/ or presenters) at local and international seminars
6. A minimum qualification of a Masters degree or its equivalent in the related fields of study for staff teaching the
programme
