expertise necessary for what are essentially precision products. PREFORMED™ fittings may be installed either by hand or by live line
PREFORMED™ fittings are tailor-made to match wide ranging methods, and are specifically manufactured to fit on to the conductor for

Colour coding is determined by the stranding of the conductor, on which the
PREFORMED™ fitting is to be used as per AS1154 Part 3.

Depending on the voltage, ends of the individual rods may be either
chamfered, ball ended or EHV (Extra High Voltage) ended. EHV end finish is
generally only ever required at a voltage greater than 330kV.

If a helical fitting is cable looped as standard, it will generally include “CL”
as a suffix in the catalog number. Generally, only subsets are gritted. Gritting enhances the holding strength
and/or conductivity, and can also facilitate ease of hot stick installation.

SERVICE-GRIP DEADEND FOR SHORT SPAN BARE PHASE CONDUCTORS ALUMINIUM CLAD STEEL
The Service-Grip Deadend, manufactured of aluminium-clad steel, is Rated Holding Strength: Actual results of tests on unweathered conductors are
designed for bare neutral messengers or self-supporting cable used in studied, and consideration is given to dimensional tolerances for the sizes
making service drops. The deadend is recommended for service drops encompassed. These minimum values are conservative when compared to
as a result of its minimum length, economy and neatness of appearance. “typical” values, or actual tests on conductors which have been in service.
The Service-Grip Deadend is recommended for spans not exceeding Tapping: Tapping over the applied legs of the Service-Grip Deadend is not
45m. For service drops exceeding 45m, the Distribution-Grip Deadend is recommended. Taps can be made on the conductor, ahead of the

with connectors applied to the continued tail.
