2. Air Conditioner Inspection:
7 Inspect the outdoor condensing unit.
8 Check the condenser coil and evaporator coil.
9 Examine the blower assembly and blower speed.

11 Check the condensate drain pan for damage.
12 Ensure air registers and ducts are clean.
13 Verify superheat and subcooling levels.
14 Inspect the drain line and electrical connections.
15 Confirm correct voltage and pressure readings.
16 Assess belts for wear and tightness.
17 Verify thermostat sensors and control panel functionality.
3. Heat Pump Inspection:
18 Check thermostat sensors.
19 Inspect the exterior for snow or ice buildup (winter/spring).
20 Clean outdoor coils.
21 Elevate the pump from the ground and away from leaky gutters.
22 Inspect air ducts for leakage.
23 Examine condenser and evaporator coils.
24 Check bearings, blower motor, and blower belt.
25 Verify refrigerant lines and condensate drain pan.
26 Ensure proper superheat and subcooling.
27 Inspect the drain line and electrical connections.
28 Lubricate motors and check belts.
29 Confirm control panel functionality.
4. Proper Insulation and Sealing
4.1 Preparation:
30 Inspect the unit for water leaks, moisture, structural fixing issues, or installation damage.
31 Address any ventilation issues (e.g., ridge vents, soffit vents) before proceeding.
32 Ensure that knob and tube wiring is replaced or properly boxed.
33 Modify exhaust fans to vent outside, not into the champer ?
34 Perform a combustion safety test if natural draft combustion equipment exists.
35 Decide whether existing insulation should be removed or moved aside.
4.2 Air Sealing and Air Barriers:
36 Seal gaps, cracks, and penetrations between conditioned and unconditioned spaces using appropriate
sealants
(caulk, foam, etc.).
37 Seal seams where Masonry wall attaches to suport frame (side plates).
38 Close larger gaps with solid materials (rigid foam, OSB) sealed at edges.
39 Address gaps around masonry wall or pipe appliance vents.
