The Visual Arts festival has grown and matured, since receiving 250 entries at its launch in 1998, to the 1,414 entries received in 2023. All visual arts artwork is submitted under nom de plumes, so that adjudicators are
blinded when adjudicating the work, to both the name of the student and school. Each work of art is individually assessed, and marked according to our carefully considered marking rubric. A selection of the best work
is recognized at an exciting annual prize-giving ceremony where students are awarded trophies (for the Best Junior and Best Senior artists) and prizes in recognition of their achievements. This is accompanied by a
beautifully choreographed exhibition of artwork, celebrating and upholding visual arts standards and achievements across the country. All schools and students, and the public generally, are encouraged to visit, and
enjoy the exhibition over the week following prize-giving. The Visual Arts Festival 2023 is sponsored by Innscor Africa Limited and Paragon Printing.

for 2023 into how another person views the world. Whether it is an exploration of past or present, a world
real or imagined, our 2023 entrants all shared in vivid colour and through textured materials a world
‘The world through my window’ of possibility, sometimes cruel but also with the touch of whimsy that only young eyes can express.
