OUR SCHOOL MOTTO

VINCIT QUI SE VINCIT, is an adaptation
of the latin aphorism "Bis vincit qui se
vincit in victoria" attributed to the Latin
writer Publilius Syrus (1st century BC). It
literally means: "He who conquers
himself, conquers twice in victory”.
“Self-knowledge requires discipline,
thought and courage. As Plato affirms
“...the first and greatest victory is to
conquer ourselves...” Therefore, it is not
surprising that our Latin credo reads
“Vincit qui se vincit”

21st OF MAY PARADE - 1956

This annual event, which began some

years ago in a very humble way, has
grown to such proportions that this
year it had to be spread over two days
instead of one. The Mackay
contingent looked a very smart turn-
out indeed, and their marching, R.A.F.
style, left little to be desired.
