Ans. We should not buy food from street vendors because it may have dust, dirt, or

germs which can make us sick.

Ans. We should eat different kinds of food because some food helps us to grow,

some give us energy and some keep us healthy.

IV Define
1. Body building food
Ans. Some foods help us to grow and make our bones and muscles strong. They are

called body building food. Example – milk, egg, meat, etc.

2 Energy giving food.

Ans. Some foods which give us energy to work and play are called energy-giving

food. Example – bread, rice, potato, etc.

V Answer the following


1. Write two good eating habits.

Ans. 1) We should eat food at proper meal times.

2) We should not waste food.


2. What are protective food? Write two examples.

Ans. Some foods keep us healthy. These food keeps us away from diseases. They are
called protective food. Example - fruits and vegetables.

3. What are the three meals of a day?

Ans. The three meals of a day are breakfast, lunch and dinner.
