4. Course Synopsis: This course intends to increase students’ awareness and knowledge on
their duties and responsibilities as Muslim in relation to Farḍ Kifāyah practices and skills as
well as translating the concept of community engagement through community profiling and
mapping. Inputs in this course will be delivered through dialectical lectures, discussion, and
experiential learning by students.
5. SAF Elements: This course intends to translate the knowledge and understanding of
sustainable development among students into actions on the ground. Through the course
activities and assessment, students will be prepared to learn to live together with the
community, while preparing themselves to be a balanced graduate, carrying the role of
vicegerent (Khalifah) and contributes to the society, actualizing the spirit of Rahmatan lil
‘alamin.
