− Crochet Hook J & L (6 & 7 mm) ch: chain
(If you tend to crochet tightly, you st: stitch
may need to go up a size)
− Mayflower Ribbon. sc: single crochet
− Darning needle dc: double crochet
− Fabric Glue sl st: slip stitch
11. Change to light blue. Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc). Work 1 dc in the next 8 sts and 2 dc in the following
st. Work ”1 dc in the next 9 sts, 2 dc in the next st”. Repeat ”to” to the end of the rnd. End with a

17. Turn and Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc). Work 1 dc in the next 49 sts. (50)
18. Turn and Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc). Work 1 dc in the next 49 sts. (50)
19. Turn and Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc). Work 1 dc in the next 49 sts. (50)

24. Now work 1 rnd of sc all the way around the owl. In the 2 corners (ears), work 3 sc in the same
st, to make the edge lay flat. End with a sl st and weave in the ends.
Cut 6 pieces of yarn approx. 12 in long. Fold them in the middle and pull through the
corner of the rug to form a loop.
Assembly:
Using fabric glue, attach the eyes and beak. You can use the tail of the yarn to stitch to the rug as well.
Glue / sew the black pieces to the white pieces for the eyes, then attach to the owl.
Glue / sew the beak on the owl below the eyes.
