An amazing school trip

Last year, my classmates and I visited Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It’s a big, beautiful city by
the sea. We travelled by train and by bus. We stayed there for six days (from Saturday to Thursday) and we
had a lot of fun!
We arrived at Edinburgh Waverley railway station at 8 a.m. and there
was a tour guide waiting to take us to the hotel by bus. On that day, we visited
the National Museum of Scotland and Princes Street Gardens, near Edinburgh
Castle.
On Friday, we visited Arthur’s Seat, an ancient volcano1. What a great
view over the city! On the next days, we walked along Holyrood Park and
visited the summer home of the Royal Family, Holyrood Palace. We stopped
at the Scottish Parliament for a very interesting tour and, after that, we decided
to go to St Giles’ Cathedral, a historical place. We learned a lot about medieval
times.
Then we also enjoyed the wonderful sights at Portobello, a seaside town
near the capital.
Look at the pictures that I posted. Isn’t it a beautiful place? Check my
other photos! It’s a must-visit.
We returned home on Thursday, after visiting one of the best places to
eat Scottish food. We tried haggis, of course. It’s the national dish of Scotland,
but I didn’t like it. It was too spicy2 for me.
By the end of the trip, we were tired, but it was a great school trip! haggis
