INTRO-

Hey guys! The short story we chose was “The star”, by Esther Claes. The title of this
story is “The star”, because the main character is a famous girl.

This story happens in Rodeo Drive, LA. But we don’t know the exact time.

We don’t know the real name of our characters.

The main character is a girl. She is a talented young woman, famous and selfish.
She has no idea of reality. For her everything is about fame. When something goes
wrong, she takes refuge in her room. She thinks everything will be resolved

overnight.

The second characters are her parents. The mom is a calm and understanding
person. She tries to bring her daughter to reality. She loves her daughter and her
husband. The father is more aggressive and loses his temper easily, but he loves
his family. Like his wife, he tries to call his daughter to the situation they were
living.

The big question is “What is the about?”. It's time to answer that question.

In this short story, a young star is living during a WAR. People everywhere are
becoming sick and dying, and everyone is worrying about survival.

The star is not aware of what is happening. Her parents are trying to explain it to
her in many ways, but it is useless.
THEME

The girl can only think about herself and her career, she convinces herself that
everything is fine and tomorrow, she will still be a star.

Her parents are dying but she doesn’t realize what is happening. The star comes
back to her bedroom and starts planning her next day as usual. She ignores all the
people who try to explain what the real situation of her country is.

CONCLU- RECOMMEN-

Finally, we wouldn’t recommend this book, because we think it lacks an ending to

find out what happened to the family and to the world. We also think that she
spends a lot of time in her bedroom to escape from problems, making the story a
bit boring. That’s why we give it 3 out of 5 stars.
