SKILLS INTEGRATION AND EXTENTION (DAY 0NE)

1. Students will perform simple math operations. They MUST give their results in English.
a) 9+8=
b) 12 + 16 =

i) 12 x 3 =
j) 5 x 20 =

EXTENSION: VOCABULARY.

(x) TIMES or MULTIPLY BY

(/) DIVIDED BY

(=) EQUALS

2) Students go over their results again, but this time, they used the vocabulary provided by their
instructor.

Example: NINE PLUS EIGHT EQUALS SEVENTEEN.

3) What numbers do you hear?

The instructor will play extracts from 5 different songs and will ask students to write down the
number they heard

4) A star for one day.

Students will choose a new identity for themselves, and they will choose the name of a famous
person. They will introduce themselves by giving the name and age of that person.

Example: * Hi, I’m Lionel Messi and I am 36 years old.

Each student will do this 3 times at least.

5) Additional activity: “How good is your memory?”

After students have taken turns introducing themselves, the instructor can try to ask students “Do
you remember his / her name? How old is he/she?”
