Installation Instructions
for the
New Mini-MCB Board
for the
KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR 825/850 Systems
and
KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Classic/Elite Systems
Service Codes: 4825, 5285, 5289, 5634
Important
• Qualified service personnel must install this modification.
• See the Service Portal for possible updates before doing this modification.
• When doing the procedures in this document, you must use safe work practices and wear the correct personal
protective equipment (for example, safety eyewear) according to your company’s standard operating
procedures.
• After the installation of the new Mini-MCB board, P6H3377, these procedures correct the following:
– The system displays “Error 14019”
– An “Invalid Software Version message” is displayed
– The Diagnostics screen displays “Model Not Recognized”

[1] Does the system have Version 5 software installed?
Yes No
a. Back up the parameters. Click: Go to Step 2.
• Diagnostics
• Config/Backup/Restore
• Copy to PC Backup
b. Continue with Step 2.

[2] De-energize the computer and the CR scanner.

[3] De-energize the system.
[4] Install the new mini-MCB board.

Important
• You must do the following procedures for your system to recognize the new mini-MCB board.
• During this installation, when the Cisco Security Agent (CSA) screen appears, you must click OK.
[5] Is your installation:
CR 825 System CR 850 System CR Classic/Elite System
a. From the main menu, click: Go to Step 6. Go to Step 27.
• Service Functions
• Service Utilities
• Reboot to Desktop
b. Select Start>Run.
c. Type c:\services\CRUnknown.bat
d. Click OK.
e. Select Start>Shutdown>Restart>OK.
f. Continue with Step 6.

[6] From the main menu, click:

• Service Functions
• Diagnostics
[7] At the Model Not Recognized screen, click Service Logs/Software Download.
[8] Click Download to Circuit Boards or Software Download.
[9] Click Change Model.
[10] Select the correct model number for your system:
• CR 825M, or
• CR 850M

[11] Click:
• Back
• Exit
• Diagnostics
• Service Logs/Software Download
• Download to Circuit Boards

Important
If the list of model numbers only displays one type of CR System, you must run the CRUnknown.bat file again.
[12] Select the correct model number for your system again.
[13] Check that the correct model number displays at the top of the screen.

[14] Click DOWNLOAD MCB BOOT.

[15] Click DOWNLOAD MCB PLD.
[16] Click DOWNLOAD MCB APPLICATION.

Important
After clicking DOWNLOAD MCB APPLICATION, you must click BACK to exit the Software Download screen to
allow the software on the MCB board to restore.
[17] Click:
• BACK
• NEXT

[18] At the Software Download screen, click:
• DOWNLOAD MCB PARAMETERS
• DOWNLOAD MCPU APPLICATION

[19] De-energize the system.
[20] Energize the system.
[21] If necessary, at the message “Add Addonit: Creation of hard disk file complete”, click Yes.
[22] From the main menu, click:
• Service Functions
• Diagnostics
• Display Software Versions
[23] Check:
• System model number is correct
• System software version is correct
[24] Is the model number and software version correct?
Yes No
a. Click: a. Click:
• Back • Diagnostics
• Download to Circuit Boards • Download to Circuit Boards
• Slow Scan Profiles • CHANGE MODEL
• Download Slow Scan Profiles b. Select the correct model name for your system.
• Back c. Continue with Step 25.
• Shutdown
• Yes
b. Continue with Checking the Operation.

[25] Go to Step 24.

For Classic/Elite CR Systems

[26] Is the model number and software version correct?

• Previous b. Select the correct model name for your system.

[28] Are any of the Available Versions shown on the screen newer than the Current Version?
Yes No
Continue with Step 29. Go to Step 35.

[29] Select the check box for the software that must be changed.
[30] Click:
• START DOWNLOAD
• Current MCB Values - only if the message “Use the current MCB Board Values or use Default Values?”
displays
• DONE after the download is finished

[31] De-energize the system.
[32] Energize the system.
[33] Use your USB service jump drive to log on to the service menu.
[34] At the main menu, click:
• Service Functions
• Diagnostics
• Software Download

[35] Make sure that the MCB current version of software is the same as the available version of software.
[36] Click:
• Diagnostics
• Config/Backup/Restore
• Restore from PC Backup
• Update Configuration on MCB BRD

Note
If an the PC Backup results in an error, you must do a recalibration of the MCB parameters.

Checking the Operation

[1] Check that the system operates correctly.
