1. Pupils are divided into groups of four and think of two superlatives they learnt during ‘The
world around us’ unit.
Starter
2. Pupils listen to the teacher's explanation of the lesson objectives and success criteria to be
achieved and their relevance to the topic of the lesson.
3. Pupils listen to teacher’s explanation of the learning content.
4. Pupils carry out activity with guidance.
Pupils are given worksheets about superlatives in Malaysia.
Pupils are asked on what they can see in the pictures (e.g. a river, a mountain).
Pupils create superlative questions. Example: Which is the tallest building in Malaysia?
Answer: Exchange 106 Building, Kuala Lumpur.
Pupils write the questions individually and to check their questions with a partner.
Four pupils are asked to come to the front of the class, and write the questions for
Main Activities pictures the on the board.

c. Which is the highest mountain in Malaysia? [ Mount Kinabalu]
d. Which is the fastest train in Malaysia? [the Electric Train Service (ETS)]

Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah roundabout]
Pupils share with the class anything they know about the five superlatives in the
pictures.
5. Pupils complete the exercise based on the topic that has been discussed.
6. Pupils carry out post lesson activity with guidance.
Pupils are asked to create one superlatives question from their own general knowledge

about Malaysia or the world (e.g. Which is the biggest country/animal in the world?).
7. Pupils listen to teacher’s conclusion and summaries from the whole of today’s learning.

A few pairs are asked to present their work in front of the class.
Next, pupils play a board game using a dice and a counter (they can use some paper, a
rubber, pencil sharpener, etc.) in groups.
A pupil tosses the coin to see how many spaces to move forward.
The pupil whose game piece lands on a space answers the question written in that
space.
Pupils take turns to toss the coin and play. The pupil who reaches the end of the game
is the winner.
Follow instructions for Activity 1 on Teacher’s Book, p.150. Pupils play the game in
groups of about four pupils.
Pupils talk about what they have learned from the lesson.
5. Pupils complete the exercise based on the topic that has been discussed.
