Dear Sr. or Madam

My name is Anna Caroline Vertelo, and I am a master's in History at the Federal

University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. I am interested in applying for the Ph.D. in History
for FALL/23.

I am writing to explain my financial hardship and request a waiver for my application fee
for admission into graduate school. I am a dedicated student, and my undergraduate GPA
in History is 3.88, and my Master's GPA is 4.00, and it would help me greatly if I could
obtain a fee waiver for the application.

I am the first in my family to do both my undergraduate and master's degrees. Currently,

in Brazil, the area for the development of academic research has scarce resources;
moreover, I am a student who has always participated in study groups, and I have
academic research. During my undergraduate, I received a Full Tuition Waiver for 4-
years, and in my Master's, there were 2-years of Full Tuition Waiver; I also have articles
in conference proceedings and have published articles in two book chapters, in addition
to having held several Conference Talks, Organization of Events and Exhibitions. Due to
my financial situation, it would be tough for me to get the fee waived; 1 USD is equivalent
to more than 5 BRL, which means a lot here in my country. For example, the Brazilian
monthly minimum wage is 1,200 BRL (less than 240 USD).

Because of the reasons explained above, I would like to apply for a fee waiver application
based on financial hardship and merit.

If you give it necessary, I would be delighted to provide additional information. I hope

you can consider my financial situation and allow me to get a fee waiver for my
application.
