Gender refers to the
characteristics of women,
men, girls and boys that are
socially constructed.
social movement, a loosely organized but
sustained campaign in support of a social
goal, typically either the implementation or
the prevention of a change in society’s
structure or values. Although social
movements differ in size, they are all
essentially collective.

tackling gender inequality and
patriarchal power. As an intergral

roles and redistributes labour along
gender just lines

women and men, taking into
account care work and reproductive
roles.
7. Appreciates the gender
dimensions of backlash and external
opposition faced by activist.
8. Engage with norms and notions
around gender, taking into account
context- specific gender identifies,
trans and intesex identities and
shifting understanding of gender in
social life and activism.
