Bridges are the most important construction that can connect two parts of a road
that are separated by obstacles such as rivers and valleys. Damage to the lower structure
has fatal consequences for the main structure of the bridge so that the bridge cannot be
used. Frequent damage to bridges is to abutments and foundations caused by natural
factors and human negligence. An abutment is a structure at the bottom of a bridge that
connects the two ends of the bridge and functions to carry the load acting on the bridge.
The results of this research are the safe shear figure for flood conditions obtained SF =
2.110. Based on the SF value, the abutment can be said to be safe against shear forces.
The safe rolling figure for flood conditions is found to be SF = 1.522. Based on the SF
value, the abutment can be said to be safe against rolling forces. The safe carrying
capacity figure for flood conditions is SF = 5.472. Based on the SF value, the abutment
can be said to be safe against bearing forces.
