Deif Data Trending Procedure
1. Plug the Communication cable into the Dief unit in the control panel and
into the serial port on the computer.
2. Plug the power supply cable into the computer (This must not be
removed until the test is complete)
9. The Dief software is capable of various log rates to adjust this click on
the following icon:-
10. The log rate can be adjusted in this page of the program; the software
has a limited memory so remember the faster the log rate the smaller the
memory capacity see the three examples below?
At 1 sec sampling the max memory capacity is 32767 sec = 9hr 10min.
11. The parameters being recorded are also selectable , to select the
parameters click on the following icon:-
12. The following box will be displayed, when connected to a unit both
boxes will have icons within ,these just have to be highlighted and the
centre display buttons used to move them in or out of the “Selection list”,
close the display when you have completed your selection by clicking ok.
13. Right click on the Main Display to open the following option to Active the
trending (tick Trending Active) :-
14. The parameters being logged will be shown on the lower half of the
display :
15. The Data being recorded is held in the Dief software memory so at no
point during the recording period should the Dief program be closed or
all data will be lost.
This situation will also occur if the battery is allowed to go flat on the
laptop!
18. Click on the “Floppy Disc Icon” on the top task bar:-
19. The file must be saved as an Excel type file, Name the file i.e. Plant no
test 1 etc save these to the desktop.
20. To reset the Software memory you must disconnect from the machine
and the program closed and reopened.
• Click on Disconnect.
