Environmental Pollution ALEJANDRO IBARRA ORTIZ VETERINARY MEDICINE STUDENT

What is it?
Environmental pollution is the presence of harmful components
(whether chemical, physical or biological) in the enviroment,
which are detrimental to the living begins that inhabit it,
including human beings.

Background Consequences
The anthropogenic sources that generate the most One of the main consquences of enviromental pollution is
enviromental pollution are the following: global warming, also known as climate change, by which
-Excessive felling of trees the temperature of the planet is increasing progessively,
- Industrial emissions and discharges into the both the atmospheric temperature such as that of seas and
atmosphere and hydrosphere oceans.
-Extraction, processing and refining of fossil fuels Eviromental pollution poses a risk to the health of living
-Energy production with fossil fuels and another non- beings that inhabits ecosystems contaminated, including

How to help?
Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three "R's" to conserve natural resources
and landfill space.
-Educate. When you further your own education, you can help others understand the importance and value of our
natural resources.
-Conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean.
-Choose sustainable. Learn how to make smart seafood choices at www.fishwatch.gov.
-Use long-lasting light bulbs. Energy efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also flip the light switch
off when you leave the room!
-Plant a tree. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat climate change.
