TOOLBOX TALK 19/06/23 – 25/06/23
TOPIC EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN – ROBBERY ATTACKS

Handling of cash during operations may expose staff to robbery attacks and other forms of violence.

Attendants must ensure not to handle huge sums of cash by regularly keeping cash in the safe at
managers office and be very vigilant of all persons that have a suspicious character. Attendants must
always know where all panic buttons are located for easy access at the forecourt.

Below safety protocols shall be followed when confronted in an armed robbery attack.

• Stay calm and do not resist.

• Follow the robbers’ direction but do not offer more than what they ask for
• Make mental notes of the robbers and their actions if safe to do so
• Go to a safe location immediately after the robbery and report incident to the police, Zonal
Manager, Safety Leads and Operations Lead.

For discussion
How can you determine/ identify a “suspicious” armed robber??

Have a Safe week!!!
