What is Double-Disc Clutch

A dual-disc clutch is a type of clutch system used in high-
performance vehicles to provide increased torque capacity while
maintaining a relatively light pedal feel.

The clutch system consists of two clutch discs that are sandwiched
together between the flywheel and the pressure plate.

The two discs are arranged in a series, with one disc facing the
engine and the other facing the transmission.

The dual-disc clutch system uses a hydraulic or cable actuated
mechanism to engage or disengage the clutch.

How It Works ?

The double disc clutch system consists of two clutch discs that are
placed between the engine flywheel and the pressure plate.

When the clutch pedal is depressed, the hydraulic pressure disengages
the clutch. This separates the two clutch discs and allows the
transmission to shift gears.

When the clutch pedal is released, the hydraulic pressure activates the
pressure plate. The pressure plate pushes the two clutch discs together,
and they create friction with the flywheels.

The friction generated between the clutch discs and the flywheel allows
the engine power to be transmitted to the transmission and ultimately to
the wheels, propelling the vehicle forward.
