India – a bright spot on the horizon

"India’s economy has been remarkably resilient to the deteriorating

external environment, and strong macroeconomic fundamentals
have placed it in good stead compared to other emerging market
economies," Auguste Tano Kouame, World Bank's Country Director in
India.

India’s economy is relatively insulated from global spillovers partly

because India has a large domestic market and is relatively less
exposed to international trade ows.

According to Morgan Stanley, India’s GDP could more than double

from $3.5 trillion today to surpass $7.5 trillion by 2031.
India’s share of global exports could also double by 2031, while the

home improvement.
India’s huge US$ 2.7 trillion economy is being fuelled by a
consumption boom where private consumption accounts for 60% of
India's GDP.

After surpassing the size of UK economy in December 2021, India

slated to become 3rd largest economy in 2029.

India’s consumption expenditures will rise by a factor of three to reach

4 trillion by 2025.

WEF states that by 2030, India will add 130 million middle-income
households and 21 million high-income households, overall doubling
the share of these households to 51%.

India to have the 3rd largest number of high income households by

2030 according to McKinsey.

By 2025, India's e-commerce industry is expected to increase by 84%

to US$ 111 billion, driven by mobile shopping, which is projected to
grow at 21% annually over the next four years.

India is the world’s 5th largest consumer market and growing larger
every year.

Manufacturing’s share of GDP in India could increase from 15.6%

currently to 21% by 2031—and, in the process, double India’s export
market share.

Oxford Economics’ Global cities report estimates that 17 of the 20

fastest-growing cities in the world between 2019 and 2035 will be from
India.
