The P.U.C diary no. 1177 of 29 January, 2024 is a speaking order passed by the Ld. Hon’ble
Mr. Anindo Majumdar, Administrative Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal,
Kolkata Bench, Kolkata in the matter of Smt. Puja Saha, Wife of Late Surendra Prasad Saha
Vs Union of India & Ors.

The her application Smt. Saha demanded compensate appointment in the National Library
in place of her husband Late Surendra Prasad Saha, Ex. Employee of National Library,
Kolkata. Her husband was the sole earning member of the family. Now, she had one minor
son. She also submitted a representation on 08/07/2020 to the Director General, National
Library seeking appointment of compassionate ground, followed by reminders on
27/07/2020 and 07/12/2020.

After that she had filed an O.A no. 350/1437/2022 before the Central Administrative
Tribunal, Kolkata bench for seeking relief in the matter. After considering both side the
Hon’ble Administrative Member have passed the following order which is as follows : -

“ ….The respondents are further directed to publish on the website of their

Department/office, within one month of the date of this order, the updated status of all
pending application for compassionate appointment received by them, the vacancies
earmarked for compassionate appointment, the waiting list of applicants for compassionate
appointment, if any, and all relevant information. The above information should be
periodically updated on the website. “

The Director General is requested to give necessary direction to proceed further in this
case.
