whoremaster Cymry Dulles ( November 4 , 1823 – April 13 , 1887 ) was an American
language Presbyterian curate and author .He was the grandfather of lavatory Foster Dulles
and Allen Welsh Dulles .== ahead of time lifespan == John Foster Dulles was born in
Philadelphia , PA on Nov 4 , 1823 .He was the son of Joseph Heatly Dulles and Margaret
( née Welsh ) Dulles .He graduated from Yale College in 1844 .After pursuing the subject
area of music in the University of Keystone State in 1844 and 1845 , he entered the labor
union Theological Seminary , New House of York city , in January 1846 , and completed the
course there in 1848 .== calling == On Oct 2 , 1848 , he was ordained by the twenty-five
percent Presbytery of City of Brotherly Love , and eight days later sailed from Bean Town to
Chennai , south Republic of India , as a missionary of the American Board of Foreign
Missions .He labored among the Hindoo until compelled by loss of interpreter to return to
United States , reaching capital of Massachusetts in marching music 1853 .ineffective to
preach , though otherwise in good health , he entered , in November 1853 , the service of the
American Sunday schoolhouse Union ( of which his father was one of the founding father ) ,
in Philadelphia , and labored for three years as its secretaire for Missions .In 1857 he took
cathexis of the affairs of the Presbyterian Publication Committee , as its repository and the
editor in chief of its publications .This organization was connected with the then `` New
schoolhouse '' branch of the Presbyterian church building , and was consolidated with the
( `` Old School '' ) Board of issue , on the re-union of the two subdivision of that church
service in 1870 .He then became Editorial Secretary of the unify board , editing its books
and periodicals , and continuing in this relation until the conclusion of his life ; he acted also
for a yr before his death as Corresponding Secretary .Besides unnumbered smaller
publications he was the author of two books , living in India , and The drive through Holy
Land .The degree of Doctor of divinity was conferred on him by the College of New Jersey in
1871 .After some months of debilitation , he was obliged to cease work in January 1887 .==
Personal life == On September 20 , 1848 , he married Harriet Lathrop Winslow ( 1829–1861
) in New House of York City .She was a daughter of the revolutions per minute .Miron
Winslow , of Madras , and Harriet Wadsworth ( née Lathrop ) Edward Winslow .Before her
last on September 6 , 1861 , they were the parents of at least six sons and one daughter ,
including : John the Evangelist Welsh John Foster Dulles Jr. ( 1849–1946 ) , a banker who
married Elizabeth I Lamar Henry Norris Russell , a girl of Admiral Alexander John Tuzo
Wilson Russell .Charles Edward Winslow Dulles ( 1850–1921 ) , a physician who married
Mary Bateman .Perit Dulles ( 1852–1883 ) , who married Julia beetle Prevost , a daughter of
Grayson Mallet-Prevost .Chief Joseph Heatly Dulles III ( 1853–1937 ) , a rector who
reorganized and superverse the Library of the Princeton Theological Seminary .Gracie Allen
Macy Dulles ( 1854–1930 ) , a co-founder of the American Theological bon ton who married
Edith Stephen Foster , a daughter of John W. Foster , escritoire of land under Benjamin

, they were the parents of one daughter and one son : Nataline Baynard Dulles ( 1865–
1895 ) Heatly Courtonne Dulles ( 1867–1956 ) , chairperson of the board of the investment
banking firm Janney , Dulles & Co. ; he married Lillian Hoyt Ewing .Dulles died at his place in
Philadelphia , on the 13th of Apr 1887 , in his 64th year .His married woman died in
1876 .Of his six sons who survived him , three were graduates of Princeton University
