Product Description and Definition
I am marketing Nivea jelly and cream. Nivea Jelly and Cream is a new generation
skin protection jelly meant for moisturization and protection of any kind of skin. This product
was invented over 100 years ago, and today it has become useful to millions of people with
different skin types. Researchers have done extensive work on the various requirements of
different skin types making Nivea a comprehensive product for everyone. Nivea caters to
people from different cultural backgrounds and different genders (Gaikwad and Daniel 179).
Before the success of Nivea, producers had invested in Eucerit, which was an emulsifier and
a combination of oils and water. It was later realized that the water-oil emulsion could form a
perfect basis for producing a skin cream. The new product was a white cream named NIVEA-
a Latin word for "snow white."
Nivea looks for the bests production formulas that have
never been seen before but designate minimal changes. Unlike
other cosmetic products, Nivea products have not changed over
the years except for an adjustment in the products' fragrance and
preservative additives incorporated to meet the changing
customers' needs and legal provisions. Unlike other body
moisturizers, Nivea has a unique formulation that has enabled the
product to retain its standards even today. The majority of the
products contain 70-80 percent water, whereas Nivea has a
different composition where oil makes the largest percentage.
Like many other cosmetic products, Nivea was born in the
pharmacy. Dr. Oskar Troplowitz discovered that Lanolin has the
best emulsifying and moisturizing properties, which he termed
Euricit. Nivea’s roots in the science of pharmacy have made a stable product in the market
without any side effects. Nivea is the only cosmetic product using wool wax-Lanolin as a
primary constituent. The lanolin ingredient is an emollient ingredient that prevents drying
body skin, itchiness, and other skin irritations. The emollient also softens and moisturizes the
skin.
Nivea jelly and cream should be used as directed.
Nivea cream used as medication prevents skin from
drying, itchy skin, and irritations like diaper rash and
sunburns. It constitutes a lanolin emollient that forms
an oily layer that prevents water loss. It softens
keratin which holds the top layer of the body's skin
cells hence facilitating the fall of dead skin cells and
helping the skin retain a significant amount of water.
Nivea cream should be applied to the affected area as
needed when used for medication. The frequency of
using the product depends on the skin condition. For
instance, when applying Nivea cream to treat dry
hands, the user should apply it after washing them.
Suppose the product is used to treat diaper rashes; the diaper area should be cleaned and dried
well before applying Nivea cream. Nivea products should only be applied on the skin and
avoid sensitive body parts like the nose, eyes, mouth, or vagina. Generally, Nivea and cream
should be applied after bathing, and the skin should be well dried.

Nivea jelly contains petroleum and other emollient ingredients such as Lanolin. It
contains aluminum chlorohydrate as the major constituent preventing sweat. The latter
prevents sweat flow on the under-arm areas making the user remain fresh. About 98-99% of
its ingredients are obtained naturally, which are meant to create natural beauty for the user.
The natural constituents include avocado oil, cocoa butter, Argan oil, and chamomile. Along
with the Ingredients, Nivea is free from harmful components like parabens and silicon. It has
a full complement of oestrogenic parabens, penetration accompaniments, and extra fragrance
components. Nivea lotion is snow-white and has a runny steadiness. The product is water-
based with a thin and creamy consistency. All Nivea products have a mild fragrance that
would not bother the consumer as it disappears after some time. The products are packed in
robust white bottles with a blue-colored flip-open cup. The mode of packaging is hygienic
and friendly for travelers (Alikhani and Pooria 551). Nivea body lotions are available in small
and bigger bottles, so customers can choose the capacity they want. The product is available
at many stores, and one can make online orders. Delivery
is free of charge, and prices are affordable for any
willing buyer. It is a worldwide brand established in
more than 50 counties globally. Nivea has a strong
distribution channel which involves several outlet
channels.
There are many benefits of using Nivea cream. It
takes care of one's hands and nails, which are the most
dynamic parts of the human body and are meant to be
taken care of more than other parts. Nivea makes hands
and fingers tender and softer. It is also the most effective
moisturizer for feet and treatment of cracked heels. This
product moisturizes the human body and counters skin
drying regardless of the climate or skin type. The products are effective in eradicating
pregnancy stretchmarks as they give the skin resistance to stretching. Nivea cream is effective
in heavy makeup removal. It removes makeup in an amazing and quick wipe! The product
takes good care of the skin by keeping it hydrated! Nivea can be used as an alternative
makeup and helps one have a rosy cheek. It treats chapped lips and keeps them moisturized
and free from drying and peeling. Therefore, it can be used as a lip balm. The product can be
used as a shaving cream when applied on areas that need to be shaved, offering a smooth and
tender skin after a trim. Use Nivea today and you will never regret!

Production and marketing of Nivea have adopted a diversification expansion method.

To meet the changing demands of customers every day, Nivea does broad market research on
the brands and quality of products needed by people based on their gender, age, attitude, and
culture (Nguyen 813). Nivea completes the market by diversifying the kind of products they
offer. For instance, through the market surveys, Nivea has established a new product for
young female buyers called the Nivea Visage Young, which addresses the needs of the target
population. Product diversification has enabled Nivea to overcome economic loss times as
one product may eliminate losses made by another product, primarily in turbulent seasons in
the market.
The second expansion method adopted by Nivea is the internalization of its market.
Nivea targets beyond one country. The company took full advantage of the local market in
America, and it now explores more than fifty countries in the global market. Its involvement
in the global market has helped it acquire various advertising strategies through television,
radios, and print media from channels in different nations (Seppi 20). Globalization has
expanded the range of products produced as people from different parts of the world have

different attitudes towards Nivea products. The urge to fit in various markets has made the
organization diversify its products.
I did not choose cooperation with other similar companies. Nivea has not adopted the
cooperation expansion method, which involves merging, takeover, and joint venture
approaches. There are various nivea competitors like Vaseline, ponds, and Dove whom they
can cooperate and venture into business together. However, different producers have
diversified cultures which would lead to communication gaps. Additionally, the cooperation
would increase the prices of products since there is reduced competition in the market.
Failure to cooperate has enabled Nivea to have autonomy in the market as it designs prices
for its products.
