Explain the purpose of your project and why you’re taking it on.

Goals:
Get specific by writing a few practical goals for your project so it’s easier to stay on task.

Budget:
This section may be optional for you. If you deal with project budgets or clients, be clear

about the project’s cost and how it’s broken down.

Scope & deliverables:


Define what you’ll deliver and the scope associated with it so you can set clear

expectations about what will and won’t be included—or executed on—in your project.

Resources needed:
List any people, funds, time, materials, equipment, or additional resources you or the

team will need to complete the project.


Timeline:
List out key project milestones with dates, as well as a link to your plan if available.

Risks:
Document things that could go wrong with your project to ensure everyone’s aware of

risks from the outset.

Dependencies:
Make note of any major dependencies so you can spotlight potential scheduling issues.

Stakeholders:
List out anyone who will be responsible for approving your project. Be sure to note who

the main approver will be.
