DISCUSSANT: SIR KIM RUSSELLE R. BANEZ

SUBJECT MATTER: COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE

 BIOLOGICAL EVOLUTION OF LANGUAGE

 HISTORICAL CULTURAL EVOLUTION OF LANGUAGES

“MY REFLECTION”

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate Sir Kim for his

excellent way of discussing the topic. He never fails me to witness again his

teaching style. I have a lot of learnings form this topic, not only about the

lesson but also from his teaching style and techniques.

Being a teacher, we also learned from our co-teachers. And its indeed

a very comprehensive way of teaching by Sir Kim. I admire how he deliver

every word, knowledge that he imparted with us. Thank you for that!

As you said earlier, Language is not only a means of communication

but also a cultural artifact, shaped by and shaping the cultural contexts in

which it is used. The way you discuss the topic, it shows how you

communicate with us that you are a very professional, proficient teacher

that we should admire.

As Mr. Cesar Chavez quoted “Our language is the reflection of

ourselves. A language is an exact reflection of the character and growth of

its speakers.

SUBJECT MATTER: ANTHROPOLOGY

“MY REFLECTION”

In my personal experience an anthropological report done by Sir Ian

has helped me to understand things that I have previously overlooked about

every other culture more specifically the recruitment as well as the job

environment.

They had always been told within their culture that they had to be

extremely smart as well as mathematically gifted, public speaking to get a

job.

When listening to Sir Ian, I realized that the anthropology of others

cultures as well as your own you can uncover things once overlooked in

your own culture. Thank you for the opportunity to gain knowledge and

experience that I will surely treasure and share to others, especially to my

co teachers. This subject, the foundation of education helped us a lot to

grow as an educator, as an individual.

In conclusion from Sir Ian topic, the foundation of education is a

multifaceted and interdisciplinary field that encompasses various academic

disciplines, including anthropology and more. It serves as the intellectual

framework and underpinning for educational systems, guiding the

development, implementation, and evaluation of teaching and

learning practices.

SUBJECT MATTER: ARTICULATION ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE

SOCIOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION.

“MY REFLECTION”

The man is born in society and must develop his personality.

According to Ros, “Individuality is of one value and personality is a

meaningless apart from social environment.” In the social environment,

individual interact with forces which influences him, and he also influence

the society. An individual can learn very little by himself. In his learning

society contribute very significantly. Man, lives in the society, acquires

socialization through his contact with family, his relatives, friends. He

learns basic things with mutual behavior through this contact. If individual

is left alone without any companions and society then his learning will not

take place, therefore for education the presence of other people, means

society is very necessary.

In the light of above discussion, we can say that the teacher and the

school have special significance in the socialization process. Education is a

continuous and dynamic process which develops thinking and reasoning,

problem solving skills, cultural values, democratic values, adjustment

among the students to behave properly in the society, this shows that

education as a process of socialization.
