a focus on lightweight and comfort. From our packable
protective DRY tarp for those seeking adventures under
the stars to a comprehensive collection of lightweight
packable pillows that are as at home on a long-haul flight
as they are tea hutting in the valleys of the Himalaya.
Weighing just 760g our Air Lite Sleep Mat is designed

for those looking for low weight, pack size and comfort
on their adventures. It’s 40D polyamide outer has a TPU
coating for high levels of tensile strength. The supplied
pump bag prevents damp air build up inside the matt
whilst making inflation fast and easy. 5cm thick air

Trekmates® have a long history of providing accessible
and affordable quality products to customers of all ages
and abilities, helping them undertake adventures big or
small. Trekmates® aim to support and protect no matter
what the terrain, weather or activity from mountain
hikes to dog walking.
We understand that a great many of our customers

enjoy heading for the hills and trails with their families
and a part of that family often has four legs and goes
woof. Therefore for SS2025 we wanted to include a
capsule range of high quality affordable dog essentials
engineered for durability and comfort.
For the past 18 months the design team have researched,

sampled and tested the best materials and construction
methods to produce harnesses, collars and leads that
provide maximum comfort and freedom of movement,

even the most active of dogs. Their human companions

can also be reassured that the highest quality
components and trim will ensure that dogs remain
comfortable and secure.

Saving the small things that run the planet
As part of our long-term partnership with the invertebrate conservation
organisation Buglife, we are proud to announce that we will be continuing Dorset Heathlands.
our support of their Ladybird Spider project. We will also be contributing to Stephen Dalton
their Species on the Edge project by supporting the Northern Colletes Bee.
The Ladybird Spider was thought to be extinct for around 70 years until it
was rediscovered in 1979. There are only a few select areas across northern
Europe that the Ladybird Spider is found, and no new populations have
been found since they were rediscovered in the seventies.
It is found on Dorset heathland, but it is so endangered in the UK that

it is possible to count each individual. The main reason that they have
become endangered is the loss of their habitat; lowland heath has declined
drastically in the last 100 years, as it has often been dug up for agriculture
or forestry. Other reasons for the spider’s vulnerability include its long life
cycle, very specific habitat requirements and inability to colonise new sites.
Buglife works with land managers and a small number of specially selected
volunteers to help this species back from the brink. They have introduced
five new groups of spiders, created outreach packages for key delivery
partners, and developed an interpretive installation at RSPB Arne. As a
result, there are now nearly 1000 spiders in the population.
The other project that Trekmates® is supporting is the Species on the Edge,
specifically the Northern Colletes Bee. The Species on the Edge is being run
by Nature Scotland in conjunction with Buglife and six other conservation
charities. The bee was chosen by us as it links to our Manchester heritage,
with the Manchester bee being the city’s icon. The Northern Colletes is a
solitary bee that ground nests in burrows up to 26cm deep. It has back
and white stripes, and its upper body is covered in gingery hairs. It can
be 8-15mm.
Similarly to the Ladybird Spider, the Northern Colletes is suffering due to

habitat destruction; climate change and coastal development are the largest
contributors to this. Nesting and foraging areas can only be 500m apart,
making habitat destruction an acute problem. To combat this, Species on
the Edge will be doing several things such as giving advice to landowners
and managers, creating habitat to improve pollinator networks, and species
survey and monitoring.
