Introduction
One of our closest planets is Mars. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live on
the Planet Mars? life on Mars? Let's find out!
Appearance
Mars is sometimes called the Red Planet because of its colour. It appears red because of the
rusty iron in the ground. The surface of Mars is covered in towering mountains, extinct
volcanoes and deep craters caused by crashing asteroids and meteorites. It has two moons
named Phobos and Deimos.
Size
Mars is the second smallest planet in our solar system. It is half the size of the Earth as Mars is
a desert planet with no water on its surface. It has about the same amount of dry land as the
Earth.
Time on Mars
Interestingly, A year on Mars is 687 days. That's about twice as long as a year on Earth. This is
because Mars is further away from the sun, so it takes longer to orbit it.
