How to make a perfect cup of Palmyra:

According to the owner of the Milk Palmyra shop, the most important thing to create a glass of milky
Palmyra is Palmyra water. Without this ingredient, the milky Palmyra dish would not have been born,
thanks to the flavor. The unique, natural sweetness of palm water has created a special drink in Tri Ton -
An Giang.

+ The first and most important step is to take Palmyra water and then filter the residue to make the
water clear.

+ The second step is to put palm juice into a wrap and freeze it.

+ The next step is to chop the palm fruit to get the flesh inside and peel it clean. Then wash and cut
into small pieces.

+ The fourth step is to prepare additional toppings such as roasted peanuts, condensed milk, etc. to
make the glass of Palmyra milk more attractive.

+ The final step to create the finished product is to puree the frozen palm juice into a glass, then take
the shredded meat, add condensed milk and some little roasted peanuts on top and enjoy.

Note:

- Frozen jaggery juice should not be used for more than 1 month.

- The shredded palm meat should not be used after the day.

- Toppings should be stored dry or refrigerated.

Disadvantages

Due to the hectic schedule during the internship, our group had to face several obstacles in spending
time on the project as the only available time for us to dedicate to the project was on weekends. Plus,
the geographical conditions in Tri Ton were considerably challenging as it’s in a mountainous area, and
the traffic infrastructure there was under construction, making it very hard to approach the locals. The
weather is in the hot season, which is equally affecting. One more problem facing us is that we had to
spend over our budget for unexpected coincidences such as broken video-making equipment, fuel
payments, etc. These challenges have made our group complete the project and fulfill the duty of
promoting the lives of people there.

Advantages

Local people enthusiastically helped our group, they gave very dedicated instructions to help the
group learn more information. In addition, the people and owners of Thu Thuy Milk Palmyra shared with
us videos of harvesting Palmyra juice and let us enjoy milky Palmyra dish. Widely promote the milk
Palmyra dish to more people by posting on the group's page. Help our group understand more about
the palm tree as well as the process of making milk palm jaggery. In addition, our group also learned
how to get palmyra water from people and palmyra water is also the most important ingredient to make
milk palmyra.
Palm trees take 10-12 years to flower and bear fruit and can get water. At that time, the
tree trunk was very high, catching every drop of honey was difficult, and transporting it
down was even more difficult.
People use a plastic can tied below the pistil, then cut a small hole so that the palm juice
slowly flows into the can.
At the beginning of the season, a few dozen liters are collected each day, which is enough to make
Palmyra water. The ladder used to climb the palm tree is old bamboo, leaving the knots to make steps.
Climbing to get Palmyra water requires experience, although many people are familiar with the
profession, sometimes dangers cannot be avoided...

Palmyra water is taken from flowers towering high above. Because it cannot be preserved over a day, as
soon as it is taken from the tree, Palmyra water must be quickly cooked to retain the best flavor.
