-8-
Flower
Use pink yarn Alize Happy Baby.
Row 1: ch 45, into the sixth chain from the hook - dc (the first of V-space),
then: (ch 1, skip ch 2 from the chain row, and into the next ch {1 dc, ch 2, 1
dc} )*13, turn
We have a series of V-spaces. (fig.35-36)

35 36

The second row also crochet V-space.

Row 2: ch 3 (counts as the first dc), then into first V-space, do: (1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc).
Continue into each V-space: (ch 1, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc)* (13), turn (fig. 37-38)

37 38

The next row we'll make the petals: 3 petals of 5 dc, 3

petals of 6 dc, 3 petals of 7 dc and 5 petals of 8 dc.
39
Row 3: (5 dc into next V-space, sl st into next ch 1)*3,
then (6 dc into next V-space, sl st into next ch 1)*3,
(7 dc into next ch V-space, sl st into next ch 1)*3,
(8 dc into next ch V-space, sl st into next ch 1)*5,
sl st on top of the 3 ch of the previous row. (fig.39)

Fasten off and cut the yarn, leave a long tail for sewing.

-9-
Roll up the rose, starting from the smallest petals. Roll
the next layers of petals around the base of the small
petals. 40
Look at the base too while you're rolling, keep the base
of the rose flat.
Adjust the petals and then stitch it all up. (fig.40)

Usefull tip:
While rolling up the rose, make sure the wrong side of
row 3 is inside, so the rose will look as if it "blossom".

Because if you rolling up the rose with the wrong side of

row 3 is outside, the rose will look as if it still bud.

Leaves (make 2)
Use green yarn.
Ch 12. Stitches are worked around both sides of the foundation chain.
Start in the second chain from the hook - sc, hdc, 2 dc, tr, tr-inc, tr, 2 dc, hdc,
(sc, ch 1, sc) - in last stitch. (fig.41-42)
Continue on the other side of the foundation chain - hdc, 2 dc, tr, tr-inc, tr, 2 dc,
hdc, sc in last stitch, sl st in first ch. (fig.43)
Fasten off and cut the yarn, leave a long tail for sewing.

41 42 43

Place the flower over the leaves and sew it on. (fig.44)
Then sew the flower with leaves on tip of the hat. (fig.45)
Put heart in a gnome's hand. (fig.46)
