First commissioning

Set up and connect the appliance

Preparation

before washing, preferably while
they are still fresh.
Dab the stains away with a non-
staining cloth. Do not rub!
Special stains (blood, egg, coffee, tea,
etc.) can often be removed with little
tricks. If you have problems with
stained textiles, you can request a
washing dictionary from your Miele
dealer or directly from Miele. This
contains tips on how to remove specific
stains.

Never use chemical (solvent-
based) detergents in the washing
machine!
■ Sort the textiles according to color
and the symbols on the care label
(in the collar or on the side seam).
Dark textiles often "bleed" a little during
the first few washes. To prevent
discoloration, wash light and dark items
separately.
– For curtains: remove the rollers and
lead tape or tie them into a bag.
– Sew or remove loose underwires
from bras.
– For knitwear, jeans, pants and
knitwear (e.g. T-shirts, sweatshirts):

– Close zippers, hooks and eyelets
before washing.
– Close the bed and pillow covers to
prevent small parts from getting in.

drinking water pipe without a backflow

Programming functions
You can use the programming functions
to adapt the washing machine to your
individual needs.
Water plus system
The water plus system affects the
water supply in the programs listed
below via the additional water plus
function.
It enables an additional water supply in
the washing and rinsing program
sections, and the COOKING /
COLOURWASH and CARELESS
programs can be extended by one rinse
cycle.
The water plus system has four different
settings.
The programmed setting can influence
the water supply in the programs:
– BOIL WASH/COLORED WASH
– EASY CARE
– Mini
– Mixed laundry
– Silk
The programmed setting is then
activated by switching on the additional
water plus function.

Slow speed
When the gentle cycle is activated, the
drum movement is reduced. This
allows lightly soiled textiles to be
washed more gently.
The gentle cycle can be used in the
KOCH-/BUNTWÄSCHE, mini, starch
and mixed wash programs.
If the gentle cycle is programmed, the
gentle cycle rhythm is used for every
wash cycle in these programs.
The slow speed is switched off in the as-
delivered state.

Lye cooling for
COOKING/COTTON WASHING
At the end of the main wash,
additional water runs into the drum to
cool down the suds.
Lye cooling takes place when
temperatures of 95°C and 75°C are
selected.
The lye cooling should be activated:
– when hanging the drain hose in a
washbasin or sink to prevent the risk
of scalding.
– for buildings whose drainage pipes
do not comply with DIN 1986.
The lye cooling function for
COOKING/COLOR-WASHING is
switched off when the appliance is
delivered.

If an additional function is selected
for a program and/or the spin speed
is changed, the washing machine
saves these settings at the start of
the program.
When the basic wash program is
selected again, the washing machine
displays these saved additional
functions and/or spin speed.
Exception: Start preselection and

active for all programs until it is switched
off again.
The memory function is deactivated in
