Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my strong interest in the DAAD Scholarship for a Master's program
in International Health. As a refugee who has personally experienced the challenges of
accessing healthcare in vulnerable situations, I am highly motivated to pursue advanced
studies in this field to contribute to improving the health and well-being of marginalized
communities, especially refugees.

Having fled my home country Sudan due to conflict and persecution, I have witnessed the
profound impact that inadequate access to healthcare can have on communities. I have faced
numerous obstacles, including financial hardships, in pursuit of my educational and career
goals. As a refugee, financial resources have been limited, and I have had to rely on
scholarships, and part-time work to fund my undergraduate education. Despite these
challenges, my determination to succeed and make a difference in the field of health has
remained unwavering.

My journey as a refugee has instilled in me a deep sense of empathy and a strong desire to
advocate for the health rights of displaced populations. Through my volunteer experience
working with various non-profit organizations focused on advocating for the health and well-
being of refugees, I have witnessed firsthand the urgent need for skilled professionals in the
field of International Health who can address the unique health challenges faced by displaced
communities.

Furthermore, recognizing the need for sustainable healthcare solutions in conflict-affected

regions, I played a pivotal role in establishing a Refugee-led organization in South Sudan.
This organization focuses on providing healthcare services, advocating for health policies that
prioritize the needs of displaced populations, and fostering community-led initiatives to
improve health outcomes. Through my leadership and collaborative efforts, we have been
able to make tangible improvements in access to healthcare and health education for refugees
and internally displaced persons in the region.

I am particularly drawn to Pursue Masters of Science in International Health because it offers

a holistic approach to addressing global health issues, emphasizing the importance of cultural
competence, equity, and sustainability in healthcare delivery. I believe that by acquiring
advanced knowledge and skills in International Health, I will be better equipped to contribute
meaningfully to addressing the health disparities faced by vulnerable populations around the
world.

My background as a medical doctor equips me with a unique perspective that will enrich my
studies in International Health. My clinical experience has provided me with knowledge of
healthcare delivery systems, patient care practices, and the challenges faced by healthcare
providers and patients alike. By pursuing a Master of Science in International Health, I aim to
complement my clinical skills with a deeper understanding of population health,
epidemiology, health policy, and global health issues.

I am particularly interested in leveraging my medical expertise to contribute to public health

research and initiatives that promote health equity, disease prevention, and healthcare access
for underserved populations. I am excited about the opportunity to merge my clinical insights
with Global health principles to develop innovative solutions that address complex health
challenges and improve health outcomes for communities in need.

Germany stands out to me as the ideal destination for pursuing my master's studies in
International Health due to its world-class education system, cutting-edge research facilities,
and strong commitment to global health initiatives. I am especially impressed by Germany's
leadership in promoting universal healthcare access and its welcoming environment for
international students, which makes it an attractive place to pursue my academic and
professional goals.

Moreover, Germany's commitment to social justice, inclusivity, and multiculturalism

resonates deeply with my own values and aspirations. I believe that studying in Germany will
provide me with a unique opportunity to gain a global perspective on public health issues,
engage with diverse perspectives, and contribute to the international discourse on health
equity and social determinants of health.

I am confident that the DAAD Scholarship will not only provide me with the financial
support needed to pursue my master's degree but also offer me the opportunity to engage with
a diverse community of scholars and practitioners in the field of International Health. I am
committed to utilizing this scholarship to further develop my expertise and contribute to
positive changes in global health outcomes.
