AKTA- RAKTAMOKSHANA

▪ Samprapti Of Raktamokshana:

● सौक्ष्म्यात् सर्वसरत्वाच्च पवनस्यासृजस्तथा ।

तद्द्रवत्वात सरत्वाच्च देहं गच्छन् सिरायनै: ।।१३।।

पर्वस्वभिहतं क्षुब्धं वक्रत्वादवतिष्ठते।
स्थितं पित्तादिसंसृष्टं तास्ता: सृजति वेदना:।।१४।।
क्योंकि दु:खंड तेष्वेव तस्मात् प्रायेण सन्धिषु ।
 भवन्ति वेदनास्तास्ता अत्यर्थं दु:सहा नृणाम् ।।१५।।

●Due To Dravatva(Fluidity),
Saravta(Mobility) Of Rakta Dhatu
& Chalatva Of Vata & While
Moving Through The Vessel Get
Obstructed In The Joints Which
Makes Them Further Aggravated.
● Because Of The Indirect Nature Of
The Course In The Joints, The
Morbid Matter Gets Lodged There.
●Near The Parva Sandhi(Small Joints
Of Fingers), As Blood Vessels are in
Slanting Pattern, The Vitiated Blood
is Stagnated There & Thereafter
the Vitiated Vata & Rakta along
with Other Dosha Produces Different
Types Of Vedana(Unpleasent
 Sensation Like Pain Etc.) So that
there is Dukha(Pain And Other
Abnormal Sensation) In The Joints.
● The Vedana (Pain) is Severe, Which
Is Dussaha Nruna(Difficult To
Tolerate).

VataRakta Chikitsa Sutra:

● विरेच्य: स्नेहयित्वाऽऽदौ स्नेहयुक्तै र्विंरेचनै:।

रूक्षैर्वा मृदुभि: शस्तमसकृ द्बस्तिकर्म च।।४१।।
सेकाभ्यङ्गप्रदेहान्नस्नेहा: प्रायोडविदाहिन: ।
वातरक्ते प्रशस्यन्ते….

● After Proper Snehana(Oleation),

The VataRakta Treated With Mrudu
 Sneha Virechana (Mild Therapeutic
Purgation With Unctuous Substances)
Or Mrudu Ruksha Virechana (With
Dry Substances In Case Of Excess
Oleated Patient). After
Virechana(Purgation) Give Frequent
Basti(Enema) Including Anuvasana
Basti(Unctouous Enema) & Niruha
Basti(Enema Made From Decoction
Of Medicinal Herbs).
● Besides Seka(Fomentation),
Abhyanga(Massage),
Pradeha(Ointments), Anna(Food) &
Sneha(Unctuous Substances) be given
which do not cause Vidaha(Burning
Sensation).
●Now Onwards Specific Remedies For
VataRakta Are Described.

RaktaMokshana Chiktsa In
VataRakta:

● तत्र मुञ्चेदसृक् श्रृङगजलौक:सूच्यलाबुभि:।

प्रच्छनैर्वा सिराभिर्वा यथादोषं यथाबलम ।।३६।।

● In This Condition, The Blood Should

Let Out With Shringa (Horn),
Jalauka(LeechApplication),
Suchi(Needle), Alabu(Hollow Bitter
Gourd), Pracchana(Scratching) Or
Siravyadha(Venesection) Depending On
Dosha(Morbidity) & Bala(Strength) Of
The Patient.
◊ Jalauka Raktamokshana In
VataRakta:

▪ रुग्दाहशूलतोदरागार्तादसृक् स्त्राव्यं जलौकसा ।

● Bloodletting Should Be Done By

Applying The Leech In Case Of
Suffering From Ruka(Discomfort),
Daha(Burning Sensation),
Shula(Pain) & Toda(Pricking
Sensation).

◊ Shrunga Alabu Prayoga In

VataRakta & SiraVyadha In
Vatarakta:

▪ श्रृङ्गैस्तुम्बैर्हरेत सुप्तिकण्डू चिमिचिमायनत्।

● In The Patient Is Suffering From
Supti(Tactile Dysfunction),
Kandu(Itching) & ChimiChimayana
(Tingling), The Blood Should Let Out
With Either Shrunga (Animal Horn)
Or Alabu(Hollow Guard).

◊ SiraVyadha In VataRakta:

▪ देशाद्देशं व्रजत् स्त्राव्यं सिराभि:: प्रच्छनेन वा ।

● If The Symptoms & Complications

In Vata-Shonita are not localized to a
Specific Part Rather are of Fleeing
Nature, The Blood Should Be Let Out
 With SiraVyadha (Venesection) Or By
Pracchana

▪ ContraIndication Of Rakta
Mokshana:

● अङ्गग्लानौ न तु स्त्राव्यं रुक्षे वातोत्तरेच यत् ।।३८।।

●In Case Of AngaGlani(Anga Shosha

i.e. Atrophy), Ruksha(Dryness) &
Other Symptoms Of Vata Dominance,
The RaktaMokshana(Blood- Letting)
Should Not Be Done.
