1 Piping is free of leakage & Pressure gauges reading are satisfactory. Monthly
2 The controller pilot light is illuminated to ensure power is on. Monthly
3 The pump suction and discharge and bypass valves are fully open Monthly
4 The suction and system line pressure gauge reading are within acceptable Monthly
range
5 The suction reservoir has the required water level. Monthly
6 The diesel engine fuel tank is at least two-thirds full. Monthly
7 Record the system suction and discharge pressure gauge readings. Monthly
8 Inspect for unusual noise or vibration. Monthly
9 Inspect packing boxes, bearings, or pump casing for overheating Quarterly
10 The diesel pump shall run a minimum of 30 minutes Quarterly
11 Record pressure switch or pressure transducer reading and compare to the Quarterly
pump discharge gauge
12 Check any fault indication on panel Quarterly
13 Observe the time for motor to accelerate to full speed. Quarterly
14 The diesel engine controller selector switch is in auto position. Quarterly
15 The diesel engine batteries’ voltage readings are within acceptable range Quarterly
16 Battery terminals are free from corrosion. Quarterly
17 Observe the time for diesel engine to reach running speed Quarterly
18 Test solenoids valve operation Quarterly
19 Record any abnormalities and initiate repair or maintenance or parts Quarterly
replacement through Civil Defence approved fire contractor.
20 Observe the engine oil pressure gauge, speed indicator, water and oil Annually
temperature indicators periodically while the engine is running
21 Check the circulation relief valve for operation to discharge water. Annually
22 record the current pressure and the highest and the lowest pressure Annually
shown on the fire pump controller event log
23 Test tank float switch Annually
24 The electrolyte level in batteries is within acceptable range. Annually
25 The cooling water level is within acceptable range. Annually
26 The oil level in the vertical motor sight glass is within acceptable range. Annually
