Restaurant
(Ralph and Anna are hungry and they decide to go to a restaurant. They go into
a restaurant. The host in the restaurant welcomes them.)
HOST: Hello. Welcome to Great Restaurant. Do you want a table for two?
RALPH: Hello. Yes, we would like a table for two, please.
RALPH: Actually no, we don’t. Do you have any vacant place to sit?
HOST: Let me check. Would you like smoking or non-smoking?
RALPH: Non-smoking, please. Can we sit on the patio?
HOST: Yes, follow me, please. (The host shows their table and gives the menu.)
Here’s the menu for you. The waiter will serve you in a second.
(Ralph and Anna sits down their table and look at the menu.
A few minutes later the waiter comes.)
WAITER: Hello, I’ll be your waiter today. Can I start you off with something to drink?
WAITER: OK. Are you ready to order, or do you need a few minutes?
RALPH: I think we’re ready. I’ll have the tomato soup to start, and the roast beef with
mashed potatoes and peas.
WAITER: How do you want the beef — rare, medium, or well done?
ANNA: And I’ll just have the fish, with potatoes and a salad.
(After they finished their food, the waiter comes again and starts to talk.)
WAITER: How was everything?
ANNA: That was delicious. You’ve got a gifted chef.
WAITER: Thanks. Would you like anything for dessert?
RALPH: No thanks, we’re full. Just the bill, please.
WAITER: There you go.
RALPH: Here’s 40 euros, keep the change. Goodbye.
WAITER: Thank you. Visit our restaurant again, please.
ANNA: Yes, we will for sure.
