5 Speaking. Agreeing
Role-play the conversations in pairs or groups of three or four where you exchange opinions of films /
books / music you’ve seen / read / heard recently. Agree with each other using synonyms and
phrases-associations, as well as some clichés for agreeing:

Same here. Exactly!

So true! Couldn’t agree more.

Totally! I’m with you on this one.

Example 1:

A: This movie I saw last week was really funny! Absolutely hilarious!

B: I’m with you on this one. It totally cracked me up.

C: Same here. I laughed so hard I cried.

Example 2:

A: Her new book is so exciting, so gripping!

B: Totally! It’s full of suspense, and it builds up throughout the entire book.

C: I’m with you on this one. And there are so many unexpected twists and turns that it keeps you
guessing till the very end.
